In 1999, the San Diego Community lost one of its greatest friends, Rob Benzon. This vibrant and inspirational 31-year-old drowned in a sudden ocean rip-current while on vacation in Acapulco with many of the current board members, which included Dan Ferbal. In 2019, Dan had passed away while he was president of our organization. We continue to honor his memory by making donations to some of his favoirte RBDFF (formely RBF) recipients. Rob Benzon
On Saturday, June 5, 1999, the San Diego Community lost one of its greatest friends, Rob Benzon. This vibrant and inspirational 31-year-old drowned in a sudden ocean rip-current while on vacation in Acapulco with many of the current board members. His sudden death was devastating to all those who knew him.
Dan Ferbal
Dan Ferbal passed away on August 13, 2019, at the age of 54, after a yearlong battle with a rare and aggressive nerve cancer. Dan had a successful career with the Evans Hotels as the Vice President of Human Resources. He had the ultimate responsibility for the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of every employee who joined the company.
